Why PQRcode (Picture QR code) is invented?
Two directional code (e.g. QR code, data matrix) is replacing the conventional one dimensional code (e.g. barcode) due to the requirement for high data storage. However, all the two dimensional codes are designed for only store information and the appearance of them is random like. So, the outlook of the code is no visual meaning such that it should be affixed at an unimportant area and the size of it should be as small as possible in order to not occupy too much area. Among the two dimensional code, QR code has been widely accepted and used in a number of area for O2O (offline to online) applications since its developed. It is easy to find that QR code scanner app is installed in a mobile phone and QR code scanners are installed for industrial use. According to a informal statistic, around 50% of mobile phones around the world have installed QR code scanner app and is still growing rapidly. Also, some mobile phone producers are planning to pre-install a QR code scanner in a mobile phone before selling it to the market.
The invention of a new two directional code that can carry visual information actually requires user to install a new scanner app and companies requires to replace its scanner devices and modify their current system, this actually makes low scanning rate and use because it needs people to rebuild a recognition of the new code and company to rebuild a new system. Due to the wide spread of QR code and the availability of the QR code scanner app in people’s mobile phone, a number of methods have been proposed to improve the appearance of QR code. In other words, the visual information should be added to the QR code and the visual information added QR code should be properly decoded by conventional QR code scanner such that user does not need to rebuild a new recognition of the new code and company des not need to rebuild a new system. Under existing environment and result, this can bring extra advantage.
